Introduction

Inserting the extruder is a common task and it takes no more than half a minute once you've done it a few times.

When inserting the extruder assembly (or just `extruder`), there're only three wire bundles to connect or disconnect: the E motor, the hotend, and the hotend fan.

The other wires in the X carriage assembly - the filament fan wires and the z probe wire - stay connected at all times and do not partake in this procedure.

PS: To remove the extruder, simply follow this guide in the opposite order: from end to start.

Step 1 Insert the Extruder

Turn off your JellyBOX.
Plugging or unplugging the motor wires whilst the printer is on has the potential to damage your stepper drivers.

Position the X carriage around the middle of your JellyBOX.

Unscrew the quick release knob all the way up.

Grab the extruder.

Thread the hotend wire underneath the X carriage and the fan wires.

Connect the E motor wire.
(You can also connect the E motor wire later, but it's arguably easier at this moment.)

Lift the quick release clamp, angle the extruder downwards, and slide it into the X carriage opening.

Try to keep the extruder high, so that you clear the belt on the bottom of the opening, but be careful not to push the motor wire connector against the top.
